Capella Healthcare Appoints Magda M. Osburn as Director of Medical Informatics

Capella Healthcare announced today the appointment of Magda M. Osburn, BSN, RN, as Director of Medical Informatics, according to Alan Smith, Vice-President and Chief Information Officer.
“Magda brings an outstanding range of clinical and leadership experience that will serve Capella well,” said Smith. “As we continue to transform our clinical care processes via the use of evidence-based clinical best practices and the leveraging of a new IT platform across the Capella enterprise, Magda will be a key member of the team that will lead this process and support our hospitals.”
Osburn comes to Capella Healthcare from McKesson Provider Technologies where she has been a key member of the clinical content team for the past seven years. Prior to working for McKesson, she worked for 14 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in a variety of nursing, nursing leadership and informatics roles. She was also a key member of the team that implemented CPOE and directed all facets of physician and medical student Clinical Information Systems’ training across the hospital. She earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt in nursing.
