The Hospital
River Park Hospital, a 125-bed acute-care, full-service facility, is a part of the Capella-Saint Thomas system of hospitals, a joint venture between Capella Healthcare and Saint Thomas Health, along with sister hospitals DeKalb Community Hospital in Smithville, Highlands Medical Center in Sparta and Stones River Hospital in Woodbury. We’ve joined together to bring the highest quality, compassionate healthcare to our friends, families and neighbors.Founded in 1970, the hospital is Joint Commission accredited and employs nearly 400 people at its current modern facility, which was built in 1996. River Park Hospital features a 24-Hour Emergency Department with Physician Coverage and round-the-clock Imaging and Laboratory Services. Along with a 72-bed med/surg unit and comprehensive surgical services, River Park Hospital also provides a host of other medical services, including Endoscopy, Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation, a Family Birth Unit, a 8-bed Intensive Care Unit, CAP Accredited high complexity lab, Ophthalmological services, and comprehensive Diagnostic and Imaging services, just to name a few. In addition, the hospital’s Chest Pain Center is accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
The Community
Conveniently located halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga, the city of McMinnville in Warren County offers something for everyone. The recently renovated downtown area with new streets, storefronts and a fountain features restaurants, art galleries, craft centers and retail stores. The McMinnville Civic Center is a multipurpose facility that includes a basketball gym, state-of-the art weight room, walking trail and indoor and outdoor tennis courts. For summertime fun, there’s the $2 million Gilley Pool, complete with a three-meter diving board and water slides.
The Barren Fork Greenway offers scenic views for walking, jogging, biking and roller blading. The 15,590-acre Savage Gulf Federal Reserve is a wilderness area with sheer sandstone cliffs, rugged canyons, breathtaking views, 50-foot waterfalls and miles of hiking trails. It also features Stone Door, a spectacular 10-ft. wide, 100-ft. deep crack that serves as a passageway connecting the top of the plateau with the gorge below.
