James “Tom” Anderson

As a co-founder of the company, Tom serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors. With more than 30 years of hospital experience, he previously served as the Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development for Province Healthcare from 1998-2005. During this time he developed growth strategies, managed the development of Province’s national market presence, and closed the transactions to acquire 18 hospitals.
Tom also served as Vice President and Group Director for Community Health Systems, responsible for the operations of 14 facilities in six states. He was also charged with new business development which included the integration of 17 facilities when the company acquired Hallmark Health Systems, Inc., a community-based non-profit hospital operator in northern Boston.
As a CPA, he began his career with HCA in accounting and internal audit. He has served as CEO and CFO of a number of community hospitals including three years as the CFO/Associate Administrator for Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, AL, and the CEO for six years at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma, TN.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Technological University and a master’s degree in business from Auburn University at Montgomery. A member of the Board of Elders for his church, Tom also serves on the Board of Trustees of Freed Hardeman University. Tom and his wife Jade have four children and three grandchildren.
