Jayne Thomas, Chief Nursing Officer
Lawton, OK. November 2, 2015. Jayne Thomas, RN, BSN, MBA, NEA-BC, has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Southwestern Medical Center, effective November 2, according to Steve Hyde, Chief Executive Officer. With almost three decades of nursing experience, including more than 20 years in leadership roles, Thomas is well-prepared for the position, having also earned board certification as Nurse Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Her previous achievements show her dedication to ensuring the provision of the highest quality of care and exceptional service for patients. Supporting our nursing staff in achieving these goals will be her primary focus.”
Thomas has been serving since 2012 as CNO at AllianceHealth Deaconess Hospital, a 300-bed two-campus facility located in Oklahoma City, OK. Prior to this, she worked for 16 years at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, TX, where – as CNO – she led the facility to achieve Magnet® designation through American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The ANCC Magnet Recognition Program® is viewed around the world as the ultimate seal of quality and confidence. Magnet organizations are recognized for superior nursing processes and quality patient care, which lead to the highest levels of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
Thomas earned a bachelor’s degree in science in nursing (BSN) and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) both from Texas Women’s University in Denton, TX. She began her career as a staff nurse at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. Thomas holds memberships in American Nurses Association (ANA) and Oklahoma Organization of Nurse Executives (OONE). She was recognized as one of Dallas/Fort Worth’s 2007 “Great 100 Nurses.”
Thomas and her husband Kevin, who have three children and five grandchildren, will be relocating to the Comanche County area.
