Capella Healthcare Recognized with “Best Campaign” and Rising Star” awards – United Way of Williamson County honors staff’s commitment
April 8, 2015Franklin, TN. April 6, 2015 – Capella Healthcare’s corporate office has been honored with two prestigious awards by The United Way of Williamson County in recognition of the employees’ generous and compassionate giving. The awards were presented during the annual Community Support and Volunteer Recognition Celebration – “Heroes Breakfast” – held April 6 at Tractor Supply’s corporate office in Brentwood.
Capella was recipient of the “Rising Star” award, going to a company that is reaching for greater heights and one that other companies can look to for inspiration in conducting their own campaigns. Andy Menzyk, Emeritus Board Member, presented the award: “Capella Healthcare conducted their first United Way campaign in 2011. Since then, campaign contributions and participation have steadily grown and their average employee gift continues to be among the highest in the healthcare division. Their 2014 campaign raised significantly more money than previous years and set new records for Capella in both average gift and per capita giving. Additionally, to honor the generosity of its employees, Capella is making its first corporate contribution, coinciding with its tenth year of operations. We thank Capella Healthcare for your leadership, your vision and your commitment to our community.”
Capella also received one of three “Best Campaign” awards. This award recognizes best overall excellence in support of United Way employee campaigns. “Capella presents their campaign as a service and educational opportunity for employees,” Menzyk said. “With a theme of ‘building stronger communities is good for everyone,’ they used fun on-line quizzes about United Way services to engage everyone and rewarded winners…The CEO offered incentives for reaching campaign benchmarks – closing the office early some days and giving extra days off around the holidays, all of which helped propel the employees to reach their goal, their stretch goal and a new record of participation – resulting in a (greater than) 30% increase for the campaign.”
Capella also received a “Circle of Caring Award,” recognizing overall commitment, and a “Top 25 Corporate Partners” award.
Capella’s President and CEO Michael Wiechart was also recognized for his service as Board Chairman for the past two years.
