Dr. Matthew Bliven Receives Capella Healthcare’s Physician Leadership Award
September 24, 2014FRANKLIN, TN. September 23, 2014 — Dr. Matthew Bliven is the recipient of Capella Healthcare’s 2014 Physician Leadership Award. The award was presented on September 20 during the company’s annual National Physician Leadership Group conference.
A family practitioner at Willamette Valley Medical Center (WVMC) in McMinnville, OR, Dr. Bliven has served in numerous leadership roles, benefitting the hospital’s patients as well as the community. He has served for a number of years as Chair of the hospital’s Credentials Committee, on the Medical Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees. He has also served more recently as a board member of the Yamhill Community Coordinated Care Organization, a non-profit organization that serves Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members in Yamhill County and parts of five other counties.
Additionally, as Chair of the hospital’s Physician Leadership Group, he serves on Capella’s National Physician Leadership Group. He was elected Chair of that group in 2013.

A native of Dallas, OR, Dr. Bliven earned his medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University, and has been in practice for 18 years. He was awarded the degree of fellow by the American Academy of Family Physicians in 2013.
Dr. Bliven and his wife, Tina, have three daughters. He enjoys attending his daughters’ sporting activities and helping with their teams when possible. He credits the support of his family and his colleagues for his success.
