Capella Healthcare announces definitive agreement to acquire Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center
October 13, 2014FRANKLIN, TN. (October 13, 2014) – Capella Healthcare, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with subsidiaries of Community Health Systems, Inc. (NYSE: CYH) to acquire ownership interest in Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center and its related outpatient services.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals. Until the transaction is complete, current ownership will remain in place. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Carolina Pines will be divested by a subsidiary of Community Health Systems, Inc. to fulfill requirements set by the Federal Trade Commission during the acquisition of Health Management Associates, Inc.
