Slipkovich named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know”
November 27, 2013FRANKLIN, TN. November 26, 2013. Capella Healthcare’s CEO Dan Slipkovich has been named to the 2013 edition of Becker’s Hospital Review’s “300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know,” which recognizes healthcare leaders from hospitals and health systems across the country. This annual listing recognizes men and women from a wide range of hospitals and health systems, including for-profit, nonprofit, public, academic medical centers and community hospitals.
According to Becker’s, the leaders featured on this list, which include CEOs, CFOs, CMOs, COO, CIOs and CNOs, have shown dedication to healthcare delivery at local, regional and national levels. Some have held their positions for a few months, while others have been at the helm for more than 20 years — but each has demonstrated great commitment to improving healthcare in America.
The editorial team at Becker’s considers these men and women to be some of the most prominent healthcare executives to watch as healthcare reform unfolds. They selected this year’s leaders based on a number of factors, including recognition they have received and their organization’s recent performance.
Slipkovich has more than 30 years of hospital experience, and is a nationally recognized leader within the healthcare industry. He has led hospitals across the country of varying sizes and scopes – from small, rural facilities to large, urban academic medical centers. In 2005, he co-founded Capella Healthcare, which now owns and/or operates 14 acute care and specialty hospital facilities in six states
A member of the Board of Directors for the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), which represents over 1,100 hospitals, Slipkovich also serves on the organization’s Audit, Rural Healthcare, and Legislative committees. Through his involvement with the FAH as well as the American Hospital Association and the Nashville Health Care Council, he is an active contributor to the national discussions that shape the industry’s future.
