Capella Healthcare’s corporate office named one of The Tennessean Top Workplaces
July 1, 2013Franklin, TN (July 1, 2013) – Capella Healthcare is pleased to announce that its corporate office has been selected as one of The Tennessean Top Workplaces, according to Dan Slipkovich, Chief Executive Officer.
The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 37 major publishing partners and recognizes a list of 150 National Top Workplaces. Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and 1 in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what’s on the minds of their employees.
“We are incredibly honored to be included on The Tennessean Top Workplaces listing because it means our employees value the work they do and the ‘family’ we’ve created here,” said Dan Slipkovich, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Capella. “This is a very challenging time for the healthcare industry, and while the work we are doing is very rewarding, it is also quite difficult. With reimbursement declining and staff working with fewer resources in many cases, it’s getting harder, not easier. The fact that the employees in our corporate office find us a great place to work is a testament to the type of individuals who’ve chosen to affiliate with the Capella family as much as it is validation of our leaders, our mission and our shared values.
“This recognition also provides additional validation for our operating philosophy which focuses on the five pillars of Quality, Service, People, Growth and Finance. The People Pillar is placed squarely in the middle because without the right people, we simply could not achieve our mission of making health care better for our communities.”
Since its founding in 2005, Capella Healthcare has emerged as a national leader in the development and operation of healthcare facilities. Capella Healthcare partners with communities to build strong local healthcare systems that are known for quality patient care. Based in Franklin, Tenn., Capella owns and/or operates 14 acute care and specialty hospital facilities in six states. With the philosophy that all healthcare is local, Capella collaborates with each hospital’s medical staff, board and community leadership to take care to the next level. As a privately-held company with significant resources, Capella has access to vital leadership and financial capital, investing in its family of hospitals to strengthen and expand services and facilities.
In recognition of its outstanding growth, in 2012 Capella Healthcare was ranked #16 on Modern Healthcare’s list of the fastest-growing healthcare companies as part of the magazine’s inaugural “Healthcare’s Hottest” recognition program.
Capella has earned a national reputation for identifying creative partnerships tailored to specific communities. In 2012, Capella and Saint Thomas Health finalized a landmark joint venture designed to improve healthcare throughout Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. Saint Thomas Health is affiliated with Ascension Health Ministry, the largest Catholic system and the largest non-profit in the United States. The partnership resulted in the joint ownership and operation of Capella’s four Middle Tennessee hospitals and potentially additional healthcare facilities in a 60-county area.
