Lynn Mergen Appointed Chief Executive Officer for Mineral Area Regional Medical Center

Farmington, MO (July 5, 2012) – Mr. Lynn Mergen has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Mineral Area Regional Medical Center (MARMC) by the hospital’s Board of Trustees and Capella Healthcare, effective August 1. The announcement was made jointly today by Gil Kennon, Chairman of the hospital’s Board of Trustees, and Mark Medley, President of Hospital Operations of Capella Healthcare, of which MARMC is a part.

With approximately 20 years of experience in a variety of healthcare leadership roles, Lynn brings outstanding qualifications,” said Kennon. “He’ll be an asset for our hospital and the community. I have great confidence in Lynn’s ability to lead our hospital through these next transitional years.”

Mergen comes to MARMC from Sarasota, Fla., where he has been serving as Chief Operating Officer of TMC, Inc., providing operational oversight for 60+ medical and chiropractic clinics. Prior to this, he served as CEO at a number of hospitals, including Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City, AZ; Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL; and Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, TX. He also served at Doctors Hospital of Dallas in Dallas, TX, and Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff, MO, as COO and Assistant Administrator, respectively.
He earned a B.S. degree in sociology and anthropology from Truman State University, Kirksville, MO, and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from University of Missouri at Columbia, Columbia, MO.
He has two children, Hannah, 14, and Matthew, 11, who reside in St. Louis.
