Capella Healthcare Appoints Holly Clark as Vice-President, Quality Improvement

Franklin, TN (January 4, 2012) – Capella Healthcare announces the appointment of Holly Clark, FACHE, as Vice President-Clinical Quality Improvement, according to Michael Wiechart, Chief Operating Officer.
“This newly created position will help Capella Healthcare continue its momentum in improving clinical quality as we establish new processes and deploy new technologies that will support the work of our physicians and clinical staff,” said Wiechart. “In all of Holly’s previous leadership roles, she’s demonstrated significant ability to move care to the next level. This promotion will enable her to leverage her vast experience and leadership skills to assist all of our hospitals. ”
Clark has more than 20 years of experience, having worked in leadership roles in hospitals throughout the South and Midwest. She joined Capella Healthcare in 2011, serving first as Chief Operating Officer for Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville, AR, and then as COO for Muskogee Regional Medical Center (MRMC) in Muskogee, OK. At both facilities she led process improvement initiatives that resulted in increased scores for core measure performance and in higher patient and physician satisfaction scores.
She began her career as Director of Patient Care Services at HCA’s Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY, and has served in a variety of clinical leadership roles over the past 20 years, including as Chief Nursing Officer at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. She was COO for three years at SUN/Mediplex Rehabilitation Hospital in Bowling Green, where she led the organization’s successful transition to the prospective payment system for rehabilitation. For six years, Clark served as CEO for Henderson County Community Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Clark earned her bachelor’s degree in general studies and a master’s degree in health care administration from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She completed her RN degree at Southern Illinois University and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Sorority. She also earned certification in LEAN Healthcare from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She also holds fellowship status in the American College of Hospital Executives.
