Capella Healthcare Announces Appointments of Thompson and Pate to Accounting Department
April 17, 2012Capella Healthcare has announced the appointment of two professionals to newly created positions in the company’s Accounting Department, according to Denise Warren, SVP, Chief Financial Officer. Clay Thompson has been appointed Director of Financial Reporting, and Emily Pate has been hired as Assistant Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting. Both will report to Steve Brumfield, Vice President and Controller.
Thompson will be instrumental in the preparation and filing of SEC documents, including annual and quarterly financial information and disclosures. He comes to Capella from Iasis Healthcare where he served since 2007 in a similar role. Prior to that, he worked at the Nashville office of Ernst & Young as an audit manager. A Certified Public Accountant, Thompson earned a bachelor’s of science degree in finance/economics and business management from David Lipscomb University, and a master’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University.
Pate will assist with corporate accounting processes and financial reporting matters as well as certain payroll processes. She was previously affiliated with the Nashville office of Ernst & Young where she served as a manager in the audit and assurance group. A Certified Public Accountant, Pate earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University, and master’s degrees in both accountancy and business administration from the University of Louisville.
“As we continue to grow, these newly created positions will help Capella Healthcare continue our momentum as we support our hospitals and the organization in complying with sound financial and business practices,” Warren said.
